HOLLAND, NY (September 2, 2017) The NYPA TQ Midgets raced for the final time in 2017 on the historic highbanks of Holland International Speedway for the track’s season championship event. In the end of the 20 lap feature, it was East Aurora, NY’s Kyle Hutchinson in victory lane celebrating the race win, while North Tonawanda, NY pilot Dave Wollaber celebrated with his second Holland track championship.

“We had a fast car tonight and we race well together” stated race winner Kyle Hutchinson in victory lane. “I cannot thank Wayne, my Dad, my girlfriend, and all the crew for their hard work in the shop. This car was a hotrod tonight” Hutchinson added.

Jim Musto and Kevin Wilson brought the field of NYPA TQ Midgets to the green flag for their 20 lap Holland season finale, but it was the sixth place starter Dave Wollaber quickly moving into the lead over eighth place starter Andy Nye and seventh place starter Kyle Hutchinson. Wollaber would take the lead off an early-race restart with Hutchinson quickly taking over second. Hutchinson and Wollaber would battle for the lead for several circuits between the top two in Holland points. The leaders would hit lap traffic over the final eight circuits and Hutchinson would take the lead back from Wollaber with three laps remaining. Hutchinson would go on and hold off Wollaber to score the win. Andy Nye, Tommy Catalano and Andy Jankowiak completed the top five.

“I would have liked to be in victory lane celebrating the race and the track title but I am honored to be the track champion for the second time” stated Dave Wollaber.

Next up for the NYPA TQ Midgets will be a date at the quarter-mile oval at Lancaster National Speedway and Dragway on Saturday September 9th.
